Thoughts from a God fearing TCK struggling with mental illnesses- Aneurin Howorth

Dan Shaffer

This photo reminds me of the train journeys I heard about from many of my boarding school classmates who took the train from home to school. I never experienced that but there were many epic tales told of the adventures, and misadventures, along the way. Whatever the method of transportation, the journeys to boarding school were often long and arduous and accompanied by the aching pain of leaving family. Frequent travel was an inherent part of growing up overseas and has instilled a wanderlust in me. Tempt me with another road trip anytime!

P.S. The boarding schools I attended were Arusha School and St Michael’s & St George’s in Tanzania, then Prince of Wales School and Rift Valley Academy in Kenya.
